RVA's Riverside &
Forest Community

Neighbors along the James River in Richmond, Virginia.

Who we are

A community of neighbors

We are a community of neighbors who love where we live — the forested community that runs along the James River spanning from Huguenot Flatwater to Pony Pasture, and south all the way to Forest Hill Avenue.

We are not an HOA with rules and regulations. We are open to all neighbors from Stratford Hills. Our priority as an organization is to facilitate communication — both among our neighbors and with the City of Richmond.

Civic action

Protecting our riverside neighborhood

On May 11, 2026, the Stratford Hills Civic Association sent a letter to the City of Richmond regarding the proposed R2 zoning Code Refresh — and the impact further infill would have on our neighborhood and its tree canopy.

"…we purposefully moved into and steward this livable forest among the extensive wildlife, birdlife and incredible canopy of trees."

More on the proposal: the City's Code Refresh overview · the Richmond Civic League's critique.
